The Zagreb Bachata Festival Social Cup is an Open Competition, welcoming dancers of all levels and backgrounds.
Whether you’re a beginner, an experienced social dancer, or an advanced competitor — you are welcome to join!
You don’t need to be a professional dancer or have previous competition experience. Just bring your passion for bachata, your energy, and your desire to challenge yourself on the dance floor.

WHAT ARE THE JUDGES LOOKING FOR?
The winner should be the dancer who consistently creates the best social dance experience for every partner, through connection, musicality, adaptability, creativity, and positive energy.
This is not about complicated tricks, choreography, or putting on the biggest show. It’s about making the dance feel natural, comfortable, musical, connected, and enjoyable for both partners.
FUNDAMENTALS
Timing, body control, balance, precision, and clean movement.
Strong fundamentals that create a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable social dance.
MUSICALITY
Understanding and interpreting the music.
Timing, rhythm, musical nuances, and the ability to have a genuine conversation with the music while dancing in harmony with your partner.

The Zagreb Bachata Festival Social Cup will consist of 3 rounds, with dancers facing different musical challenges throughout the competition.
